As a trainee, Cynthia was involved in several commercial and investment disputes, including:
• A USD 800 million ICSID arbitration under Kuwaiti law;
• ICC arbitration under Seychelles law representing a Hong Kong-based company against a Seychellois company;
• ICC construction arbitration case under Georgian law representing a Georgian state entity against a consortium.
Allen and Overy LLP, Paris – Trainee
During her time at Allen & Overy LLP, Cynthia worked on various investment and commercial law cases. Cynthia primarily focused on a USD 14 billion ICSID arbitration case, representing a North African country against a major oil and gas company. Cynthia also contributed to drafting a legal memorandum assessing the likelihood of the annulment of an arbitral award in a well-known investment arbitration case.
Prior experience in litigation before French courts
Cynthia worked in several French law firms during her training at the Paris Bar School. She was involved in commercial disputes (contractual liability, breach of established commercial relations, unfair competition, parasitism, disparagement, and misappropriation of customers) and construction disputes.
