Job Openings and Internships at Aceris Law

As we receive many applications for a limited number of positions, we are unable to respond to every inquiry. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly, and hiring decisions are typically made within two weeks of the interview. While our current job openings are listed below, candidates are also welcome to apply speculatively when no positions are available; however, we will only reach out if a suitable opportunity arises. All application data is deleted after one year and will never be shared publicly.

Trainee/Intern Openings in International Arbitration at Aceris Law

We select trainees based on their academic excellence, strong writing and language skills, and a demonstrated interest in international dispute resolution. Trainees are expected to be professional, respectful, and capable of working effectively within a team. Base salaries are competitive with those offered by other boutique arbitration practices, and trainees are also eligible for bonuses. The primary purpose of the traineeship is to gain practical experience and develop the skills required to become an outstanding lawyer. Trainees assist in legal research and drafting memoranda; help manage case files; perform administrative tasks; and support the preparation of arbitrations and hearings. They may attend client meetings, hearings, and oral arguments, and contribute to drafting pleadings and riders under the supervision of Aceris Law’s lawyers. Trainees may also participate in writing articles and contributing to publications on specific legal topics. The goal of the traineeship for Aceris Law is to identify individuals who can conduct thorough legal research, draft rigorously with minimal errors, think logically and develop well-reasoned arguments, demonstrate genuine motivation and interest in international arbitration, and work collaboratively while maintaining a positive attitude toward colleagues. In short, we are looking for future associates who embody both excellence and collegiality.

Trainees can be based anywhere in the world. Aceris Law provides access to offices in over 120 countries, along with the technology and support needed to participate fully in the traineeship.

Aceris Law’s next scheduled traineeship runs from July 2026 to December 2026.

A Google account is required to apply. All applicants should fill out the following form :

Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted approximately four months before the beginning of the traineeship. Interviews provide an opportunity to learn more about Aceris Law, and candidates are encouraged to ask questions. Due to the high number of qualified applicants, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

We may also contact you if an unanticipated need arises. We will delete your application data after one year, which will never be shared publicly.

Associate Job Openings in International Arbitration at Aceris Law

Base salaries are competitive in relation to other boutique arbitration practices. All associates and staff share in the firm’s success through profit-sharing, reflecting our collaborative and merit-based culture.

We typically hire associates from those individuals who have proven their excellence as trainees at Aceris Law.

That said, potential associates may apply and, if a need arises for additional associates, we will keep your application on file and contact you for an interview. As we have many very good candidates who apply, we will not contact you if a need does not arise.

Senior Counsel/Partner Job Openings in International Arbitration at Aceris Law

We do not currently have a need for senior counsel and aim to grow organically. However, we are always glad to act as co-counsel on a given case with senior lawyers. This allows us to determine whether we work well together and may pave the way for a more permanent relationship. Our pitch to co-counsel is:
– We have an excellent track record in large, international cases;
– We never attempt to take advantage of co-counsel, allowing them to play as large a role as they would like in their arbitration and keeping them on copy of all correspondence – a co-counsel’s client also always remains its client;
– Our legal fees are always competitive;
– We have access to offices in 120 jurisdictions to meet and work with clients and co-counsel, although we are also always reachable by videoconference, making it easy to collaborate with other lawyers in all jurisdictions.

We typically enter into a Co-Counsel Framework Cooperation Agreement regarding a given case, in order to clearly delineate roles and to avoid any unnecessary friction. We would not enter into such an agreement unless joint work on a specific matter was being considered.
