Job Openings and Internships at Aceris Law

As we receive multiple job applications each day, for a very limited number of positions, we unfortunately cannot respond to each job query. If a candidate is selected for an interview, he/she will be contacted. Decisions are made rapidly, typically within two weeks of an interview. Below is a list of all current job openings. Candidates may apply even in the absence of job openings, but in this event we will contact you only if an unexpected need arises. All data regarding job applications is deleted after one year and will never be shared publicly.

Trainee/Intern Openings in International Arbitration at Aceris Law

We choose trainees on the basis of their academic excellence, their writing skills, their language skills and their demonstrated interest in international dispute resolution. Trainees should also be professional, respectful of others and capable of working in a team. Base salaries are competitive in relation to other boutique arbitration practices and trainees are entitled to bonuses. The main reason for seeking an internship is to learn more about how to be a lawyer. Trainees perform research and write memoranda; help to manage case files; perform administrative duties; assist with preparation for arbitrations and hearings; attend client meetings; assist clients; attend arbitrations, hearings and arguments; research jurisprudence, etc. Trainees may also help to draft riders that are incorporated into memorials, under the supervision of other lawyers. Trainees may also be involved in writing articles and contributing to publications on specific legal topics.

Trainees do not have to be based in a city where Aceris Law has a permanent presence. They will be given access to offices in the 120 countries where Aceris Law has access to offices, as well as the technology needed to participate in the traineeship.

Aceris Law’s next scheduled traineeship runs from January 2026 to June 2026.

A Google account is required to apply. All applicants should fill out the following form :

FORM

If you are selected for an interview, we will schedule an interview approximately three months prior to the beginning of the traineeship. During the interview, you should feel free to ask any questions you may have about Aceris Law. As we have many very good candidates who apply each day, we will not contact you if you are not selected for an interview.

We may also contact you if an unanticipated need arises. We will delete your application data after one year, which will never be shared publicly.

Associate Job Openings in International Arbitration at Aceris Law

Base salaries are competitive in relation to other boutique arbitration practices, and all associates and staff are entitled to profit-sharing, unlike at other firms.

We typically hire associates from those individuals who have proven their excellence as trainees at Aceris Law.

That said, potential associates may apply and, if a need arises for additional associates, we will keep your application on file and contact you for an interview. As we have many very good candidates who apply each day, we will not contact you if a need does not arise.

Senior Counsel/Partner Job Openings in International Arbitration at Aceris Law

We do not currently have a need for senior counsel and aim to grow our team organically. However, we are always glad to act as co-counsel on a given case with senior lawyers. This allows us to determine whether we work well together and may pave the way for a more permanent relationship. Our pitch to co-counsel is:
– We have an excellent track record in large, international cases;
– We never attempt to take advantage of co-counsel, allowing them to play as large a role as they would like in their arbitration and keeping them on copy of all correspondence – a co-counsel’s client also always remains its client;
– Our legal fees are always competitive, increasing chances of winning tenders and securing contracts for legal representation with co-counsel;
– We have access to offices in 120 jurisdictions to meet and work with clients and co-counsel, although we are also always reachable by videoconference, making it easy to collaborate with other lawyers in all jurisdictions.

We typically enter into a Co-Counsel Framework Cooperation Agreement regarding a given case, in order to clearly delineate roles and to avoid any unnecessary friction. We would not enter into such an agreement unless joint work on a specific matter was being considered.
