Justine Codo, Paris Arbitration Lawyer

Justine Codo is an arbitration lawyer based in Paris. She speaks French, English and Spanish. She also has basic knowledge of Vietnamese.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Economic Cooperation and International Business Law, a joint program of Toulouse Capitole University, the University of Bordeaux, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, and Vietnam National University in Hanoi. This program combines public and private international law, with a focus on international economic cooperation, investment law, and cross-border dispute resolution. She also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of La Rochelle, which included a year at the University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada, and a University Diploma in French and International Arbitration from the University of Montpellier.

Prior to joining Aceris Law, Justine trained with French and international law firms and a multinational company, assisting with arbitration and litigation cases across sectors including energy, banking, construction, and distribution. She also gained experience with ICSID, ICC and UNCITRAL arbitration proceedings, as well as annulment proceedings before the Paris Court of Appeal.

Justine is working with the clients of Aceris Law LLC under the direction and supervision of the founding partner, William Kirtley. She is currently involved in a multibillion-dollar ICC arbitration and is serving as secretary to the tribunal in a commercial arbitration seated in the Middle East.

Foley Hoag LLP | International Litigation & Arbitration – Trainee

Justine worked in a team representing sovereign States primarily in investment arbitrations under the ICSID rules. She also contributed to a construction arbitration and assisted in several annulment proceedings before the Paris Court of Appeal.

CBR & Associés | Litigation – Trainee

Justine worked on litigation matters in the distribution and commercial sectors, assisting in high-profile disputes involving both French companies and multinational groups.

Aceris Law LLC – Trainee

In addition to assisting the team with substantive and procedural research in international arbitration, Justine co-drafted a Notice of Dispute in a case between an American company and a Kazakh company under several CISG-governed contracts. Her work contributed to securing payment for the client without the need to commence arbitration proceedings before the Swiss Arbitration Centre.

Aramis | Litigation & Arbitration – Trainee

Justine worked on litigation cases in the energy sector, including disputes involving large French companies. She also contributed to annulment proceedings before the Paris Court of Appeal in relation to a notable arbitral award that raised issues of corruption and compliance.

Thema (Canal+ International) – Trainee

Justine worked on international audiovisual distribution, drafting and negotiating contracts with operators and agents, and assisted in pre-litigation matters involving the termination of distribution agreements.
