Shweta Kabra, Arbitration Lawyer

Shweta Kabra is a dual-qualified arbitration lawyer. She speaks English and Hindi.

Shweta holds an LL.M. with a specialization in International Law from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law University, Delhi in India.

Prior to joining Aceris Law, Shweta worked for five years in the dispute resolution team of Khaitan & Co, a tier-one Indian law firm. She also gained experience in international arbitration at Three Crowns (London) and White & Case (Paris).

experiences

Aceris Law LLC – Associate

Shweta represents the clients of Aceris Law LLC under the direction and supervision of the founding partner, William Kirtley. She is currently working on various commercial and construction arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, SIAC and other arbitration rules, involving English law, Swiss law, Italian law, Saudi law, Bangladeshi law and public international law. She also serves as tribunal secretary in a construction arbitration seated in the Middle East.

Aceris Law LLC – Trainee

As a trainee, Shweta was involved in an ICC arbitration against a South American State concerning breaches of a settlement agreement resolving claims of unlawful detention and human rights violations, and in defending an ICC arbitration arising out of a dealership agreement involving claims alleging breaches of intellectual property rights.

White & Case, Paris | International Arbitration Trainee

Shweta assisted in defending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in ICSID proceedings in a dispute involving a telecommunications operator. She also assisted with preparation of written submissions for the team representing the Federal Republic of Nigeria in an oil and gas ICSID arbitration.

Three Crowns, London | International Arbitration Trainee

Shweta acted for a global energy major in UNCITRAL arbitral proceedings against a Middle Eastern State. She also assisted in representing a global mining company in UNCITRAL arbitration proceedings against a Central Asian State.

Khaitan & Co, New Delhi, India | Senior Associate | Associate

Shweta worked in the dispute resolution team of Khaitan & Co, a tier-one Indian law firm for five years. She specialized in commercial litigation and arbitration with several leading domestic and multinational clients in hospitality, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, energy, manufacturing, FMCG, automotive and banking sectors. She also regularly appeared before the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi in cases involving environmental laws, insolvency laws, employment and labour laws, taxation laws, and Indian constitutional law.
